Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre. Volunteers are integral to our ongoing work to provide a safe and welcoming space for all women in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
Volunteer opportunities are available for women (cis, trans, 2S) over the age of 18.
Possible roles
Depending on their interests, skills, and aspirations, volunteers may contribute to a wide range of roles, programs, and community events:
- Facilitate recurring workshops and community activities for the women we serve, including game nights, karaoke nights, movie nights, and other social programming.
- Support English language learning through English classes and English-Mandarin translation assistance.
- Provide hairstyling and makeup services for community beauty nights.
- Contribute to annual community events and celebrations.
