Facilities Manager

Full-Time Temporary | Vancouver, BC

The Manager, Facilities & Operations (the Manager) oversees the DEWC Facilities Team to evaluate, improve, and ensure that the day-to-today operations of the organization run smoothly and efficiently. The Manager contributes to the development of efficient operations by providing leadership in the area of operational/facility support to ensure that DEWC has effective and efficient systems in order to fully support the delivery of programs and services. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, DEWC, the Manager will work closely with the DEWC leadership team to ensure the success of DEWC and her strategic objectives ensuring all services provided align with DEWC mission and philosophy. This position requires a true strategic partner who is collaborative and capable of building consensus and commitment toward shared outcomes. She will work from a feminist perspective and within an anti-oppression framework.

Facilities Coordinator

Full-Time Temporary | Vancouver, BC

The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for facilitating the daily operational, maintenance, and repair needs of DEWC locations are carried out in a manner consistent with industry best practices ensuring a safe and reliable environment for the delivery of programs and services. Reporting directly to the Manager of Operations and Administration, the Facilities Coordinator will work in collaboration with other DEWC staff to ensure smooth operations of DEWC. She will work from a feminist perspective and within an anti-oppression framework.

Compensation & Benefits Specialist

Full-Time Permanent | Vancouver, BC

The Compensation & Benefits Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of the DEWC employee compensation and benefits systems including payroll and benefits, staff scheduling, and maintaining personnel files in compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements. Reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager, the Compensation and Benefits Specialist will work closely with the DEWC Administrative and Management Team to ensure smooth operations and accurate application of the HR functions. Mental Health Advocate

Full-Time Permanent | Vancouver, BC,CA

The Mental Health Advocate is responsible for providing advocacy and assisted referral services to women with mental health concerns who live and/or work in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver primarily in the areas of BC Benefits and income assistance, Residential Tenancy, Housing, and the Ministry for Children and Families.  Reporting directly to the Specialized Services Program Manager, the Mental Health Advocate will work in collaboration with other DEWC staff to promote integrated services to women.  She will work from a feminist perspective and within an anti-oppression framework.

Victim Services Worker

Full-Time Permanent | Vancouver, BC,CA

The Victim Services Worker will work with women who live in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver who are victims of crime.   She will assist them to establish safety and support them in accessing the justice system.  She will provide referrals, information, advocacy, and accompaniment to women to connect them to appropriate supports and/or agencies.   Reporting directly to the Specialized Services Manager, the Victim Services Worker will work in collaboration with other DEWC staff to promote integrated services to women.  She will work from a feminist perspective and within an anti-oppression framework

Indigenous Women’s Project Coordinator

Full-Time Permanent | Vancouver, BC

The Indigenous Women’s Project Coordinator will work with Indigenous women and Elders facilitating their engagement in pursuing the recommendations contained within Red Women Rising, Calls for Justice, and Getting to the Roots.  She will also plan, develop, and implement cultural, recreational, social and/or educational programs for Indigenous Elders that are consistent with the mission and mandate of the DEWC.  Reporting directly to the Manager, Cultural & Skill Development Programs, the Indigenous Women’s Project Coordinator will work in collaboration with other DEWC staff to promote integrated services to women.  She will work from a feminist perspective and within an anti-oppression framework.

Skills Development and Programming Coordinator

Full-Time Permanent | Vancouver, BC

The Skills Development and Programming Coordinator is responsible for volunteers, peers and programming within the DEWC shelters. She recruits, orientates, and schedules volunteers and peers as well as facilitates cultural, social, recreational, and educational programs and activities for the shelter members. Reporting directly to the Manager, Cultural & Skills Development Programs, the Coordinator will work in collaboration with other DEWC staff to ensure services to women.  She will work from a feminist perspective and within an anti-oppression framework.

Peer Support Worker Casual

Casual Permanent | Vancouver, BC, CA

The Peer Support Worker is responsible to support women to secure practical needs and access support services, while managing crisis in the Drop-in and/or Shelter. Promoting principles of peer support she will work in collaboration with other DEWC staff to promote integrated services to women and in-centre volunteers. She will work from a feminist perspective and within an anti-oppression framework.
