We are thrilled to have you back in-person at our annual gala, Herstory. This is 7th edition of this event and, as always, we are aiming to raise support and awareness for our work while celebrating the strength and power of the women we serve. Get your tickets now
This year, we kept the classics that made the success of the night and brought exciting new performers and entertainment to offer a night that you do not want to miss: incredible speakers, breathtaking performances, and as the highlight of the night: women of the community performing in a fashion show, expressing their personal style and powerful energy.
Show: Hosted by Madelaine McCallum – Dance performance – Drums by Wildflower women of Turtle Island – Fashion show
Bar: Craft beer by Main Street Brewing Co. – Good wines – Exclusive and creative cocktails by Cocktail Connoisseur – Complimentary hors d’oeuvres buffet
Music: Award-winning DJ, Tracey Draper (aka Dj Tracey D)
Auction: live auction by Howard Blank with special items (including a luxury stay in Mexico) – silent auction items (open online February 24th)
Ticket purchases, donations and auction will help us meet our fundraising goal of $100,000, which will directly support our essential meals program while also helping create and maintain safe spaces for women in the Downtown Eastside community.
And remember: there are countless stories of women who have found empowerment and strength at the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre. We are looking forward to celebrating and honouring these stories with you.
